Vaccination Services

Workplace Wellbeing provide a full vaccination and travel health advisory service delivered at your workplace!

Vaccinations, also known as immunizations, are one of the most effective measures to help you stay well.

While many of us will have undergone childhood vaccinations, the vaccinations required as an adult are often related to our work or lifestyle.

In some cases the requirement for a particular vaccine is due to the work an individual is involved in, for example staff working with blood products are advised to be vaccinated against Hepatitis B.

In other cases the risk of catching a particular disease or illness is increased due to close contact with others at times of high risk such as the flu virus season. In this case companies often prefer to offer a company-wide vaccination programme to reduce the chances of large numbers of staff becoming unwell and the potential impact this can have on the workforce.

Quickly becoming one of our most popular services, Workplace Wellbeing can attend your workplace with their fully equipped mobile vaccination unit including everything required to provide a safe and effective vaccination clinic.

Offering a full range of vaccinations for all related workplace hazards, our trained vaccination nurses will provide an individual consultation for staff before carrying out any recommended immunizations. Workplace Wellbeing also provide a follow up service including record keeping and recall.

Whilst Workplace Wellbeing provide a full range of vaccinations, including travel vacations for overseas travellers, our most popular programmes include:

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B can be spread through blood and other body fluids. Individuals can become infected with Hepatitis B if they are not immune to the virus and come into contact with the blood or body fluids of an infected person. The Hepatitis B vaccine is given as a course of three injections. Following completion of the course a small blood test is carried out to ensure antibodies have been made.

Influenza

Flu is a highly infectious illness caused by the flu virus. It spreads rapidly through small droplets coughed or sneezed into the air by an infected person.

Studies show that flu vaccines provide effective protection against the flu, although protection will vary between each individual. As protection from the vaccine gradually decreases and flu strains change over time, new vaccines are made each year. Vaccinations are carried out between October and November of each year.

Workplace Wellbeing also offer other vaccine advisory services including:

  • Vaccination in the Workplace policies.

  • Travel Health Fact Sheets

  • Telephone advisory service
